Las Terrenas
OUR story
Giulia and Sam’s love story began in the vibrant heart of Haiti. When they first met, neither imagined how intertwined their lives would become. Giulia, with her Italian charm, was drawn to the warmth and energy of Haiti, while Sam was captivated by her elegance and zest for life. They spent months exploring the culture, food, and music of Haiti together, deepening their connection with every shared experience. However, life soon called Sam away to finish his studies, separating the couple by thousands of miles.

Despite the distance, their love only grew stronger. They found ways to visit each other, meeting in various corners of the world, from the lively streets of Port-au-Prince to the picturesque landscapes of Italy. Each journey was filled with excitement, laughter, and discovery, as they learned more about each other’s cultures and traditions. Though the distance was challenging, it also brought them closer, teaching them patience, understanding, and the beauty of compromise.

It was during one of these visits to Italy that their story took a beautiful turn. On the sun-kissed shores of Ischia, surrounded by the sparkling blue waters of the Mediterranean, and the most ancient water springs in the world, Sam knew it was the perfect moment. He got down on one knee and asked Giulia to spend forever with him. Overwhelmed with joy, she said yes, sealing their love story with a promise to continue their adventure together, no matter where life might take them.

As they stand on the brink of their wedding day, Giulia and Sam are a testament to the power of love that transcends borders, cultures, and time. Their journey is a beautiful blend of two worlds, filled with laughter, love, and endless possibilities for the future.

las terrenas
Las Terrenas is part of the Samana region. Las Terrenas is a quite touristy area with different type of accommodations. We are sure you can find the one that best fits your needs in Booking or Airbnb. We suggest renting a villa if you are a group of 6 or more. They can come with a chef. We are happy to help with the accommodations. Note that March is high season so the sooner you book the more options you have. Below are some suggestions. (See the accommodation page below).
Our recomendation around Las Terrenas
You can go around Las Terrenas in a car, quads, or golf carts. There are many rental places! You can also rely on the numerous moto-taxi, which are very useful and cheap! The area is relatively small, you might need 20 minutes from one side to the other. The main beaches are:

- Playa Las Ballenas: there are many local restaurants and bars at the beach, it is very accessible, and there are several palms for a nice shade. There are places where you can rent the chairs for the day, but if you are a client of kiosks/restaurants chairs are usually free (like for the bar Alisei). The beach is served by hotels located just on the other side of the road. It is close to the town center and quite practical if you have kids. The water has some seaweed here and there.

Hotel Alisei (breakfast included) beachfront with swimming pool. https://maps.app.goo.gl/WYiwhukLsnewMD2QA
Villa for 8 people with swimming pool: Airbnb here: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/629581741839071937?source_impression_id=p3_1724878022_P3LH50z4180mhgLhs
Restaurants: Many local restaurants on the beach.

- Playa Bonita: It is quieter than Playa las Ballenas, with a very popular bar/restaurant/hotel called Mosquito and The Catalina Surf School where everybody goes. There are no places where you can rent chairs except for this hotel. But there are a few restaurants. On one side, you can walk up to Punta Bonita and access Playa Coson, or you can walk on the other side, until you reach the hidden Playa Escondida a small beach with a calm sea, with a view to Playa Bonita. Differently from Playa Las Ballenas, the road is after the first line of hotels, which makes the place a bit more peaceful. The city center is 15 15-minute drive in a quad or moto, through a secondary and not too busy road.

Hotel: El Mosquito Boutique Hotel Playa Bonita (breakfast included) beachfront. This is also a restaurant, also perfect for brunch. https://maps.app.goo.gl/eNCdym99RP2eq2Yp7
Hotel Boutique Casa Grande: beachfront
Restaurant: Beluga Beach Club Bar Restaurant https://maps.app.goo.gl/NCrgSPz7Vg2KaoWS8

- Playa el Coson: The sand is tan rather than white, and the water is shallow and calm. It is a good place to lose yourself for the day, as the beach is very long! I suggest going for the sunset, there it is magnific! You can arrive at Playa Coson by foot from Playa Bonita, but the path is broken so you might have to walk in the water for a few meters. If you get there by car, it might take you a bit longer (10 min) as from Playa Bonita you need to go back to the main Road.
Hotel Casa Coson Breakfast included
Coson Bay: https://maps.app.goo.gl/7CJpH2rKu8DntjsA9
Viva V Samana by Wyndham, A Trademark Adults All Inclusive
Restaurants:
Chef Medina: extremely local restaurant, with cheap and good food. Limited variety, but fresh fish. Tables can be moved around on the beach where you like most. https://maps.app.goo.gl/sKc4e2tiThEmq9ZHA
Hotel Casa Coson and Coson Bay offer also restaurant services.

- Playa Portillo: Fine golden sand, shimmering blue, clear water and plenty of space for relaxing and long walks await you here. Playa El Portillo is also very popular with families. On weekends, many locals stop in for a quiet place to sunbathe and linger. Since the water is very clear and there is a beautiful coral reef in front of the beach, which is populated by many colorful fish, you should go with the snorkel into the water and explore the underwater world. There is no water sports provider here, but a surf school from Las Terrenas often comes by and brings equipment that you can rent. This beach, compared to the others is the closest to Villa Manglar

Hotel and Airbnb: Bahia Principe Grand El Portillo, All inclusive
Restaurant: Porto el Mosquito, quite nice especially in the evening. https://maps.app.goo.gl/8NiUZHLX34GqDzVV9

- The town center: it is crossed by two main streets along which there are shops, bars and many different restaurants. There are a few squares with cafes and little shops of souvenirs, linen clothing, and jewelry.
For the night, the best bar/restaurant with a DJ set is Etno. There is also an El mosquito, at the beginning of playa las Ballenas.
